The owner was very friendly and showed us nearby places on his phone. Our room was upstairs, with a small kitchen attached. There were bottles of water and Coke available too, for a charge. The area is right behind Tirth Ganga temple among the rice fields, but there's not much else to do around there. We saw the temple after arriving, then went to Lempunyang Temple the next morning. We had booked two nights and left after one, even though it cost us a lot, INR 5500. Our hotel in Ubud had been around Rs 3000-something. The bathtub took ages to fill because the tap ran so slowly, and it had no plug to stop the water draining. They gave us a makeshift one. We also asked about using the washing machine, but there seems to have been a misunderstanding. When we asked about the cost, nobody mentioned a price, so we assumed it was free. We washed, dried, and folded everything ourselves, then were charged 40000K IDR as we left. That seemed far too much for doing the work ourselves. At the market, laundry was 25000K IDR per kilo, including ironing.

The room was really comfortable, and the morning view from it was lovely. The host was especially friendly, always ready to help and full of good advice. A lovely place to stay around Amlapura.

The owners were warm and helpful, and the place felt calm and peaceful. Our room was spacious, with a great view of the rice fields and coconut trees. The sunset was awesome too. The water temple is just a three-minute walk away, and Maha Gangga Valley takes about 15 minutes on foot.

Breakfast has a limited set of pre-designed options. The homestay itself is cozy, and the owners are welcoming. It's a quiet spot, though the path from the main road is about 300 meters long and has no lighting, which makes getting there at night inconvenient. There was a bathtub, but we couldn't use it because its water stopper was missing.

We spent the last three days of our 10-day Bali trip at Dau Homestay, and I wish we'd stayed for at least a week. Mr. Ketut runs the place with so much passion that you feel it as soon as you arrive. It's such a peaceful, beautiful spot, and one of the best stays we've had in 20 years of travel. I wanted to take a dip in that fresh water swimming pool every day. This place feels like heaven. I'll come back to Bali for it.
