Dusun The Villas

The staff were kind, and when our AC stopped working and leaked, they came to clean it as soon as they could. Still, this was a dreadful stay. The rooms were okay, but there were lots of bugs. From the other reviews, I'm glad ours was at least in somewhat better shape. The bathroom was revolting: dirty floors, weak and uneven water pressure, and hot water that lasted no more than three minutes. The buffet was poor as well, with very few choices, bland food, and stale bread. I would not come back.

The concierge made a real effort during our five days and four nights at Dusun the Villas. When the washing machine was broken, they offered to take our laundry to a nearby place. After we asked Grab to leave our Grab food and Grab Mart order at reception, the concierge called our room and brought it to us. We also liked having easy access to dusun semilir. We booked three rooms, two Pool side and one Hide away, and especially liked the Hide away villa. We came from Singapore to Yogjakarta and the drive to the villa took a while, though we knew it was somewhere in Semarang. We were worried by reviews about insects because we had a toddler, but I fell for the room designs, layout, and atmosphere once we arrived. A small bottle of insecticide should take care of the uninvited insects. The food could be better. The restaurant has a nice view, but the food was cold, lacked flavor, and had limited choice. Apart from that, my family and I enjoyed our stay and felt the travel time was worth it. Semoga ketemu lagi!

We came for some peace and quiet, and Berembun house was just right. Abg Rashdan & Kak Ida were so warm and welcoming, they made us feel at home. We'll definitely return when we need a break from busy KL life.

Dust and poor cleaning made this glamping stay horrible. There was dust and spiderwebs on the walls, ceiling, and lamps, and I suspect there was mold too. I expect insects with glamping, but not that. It seems like a design fault, and this place isn't suitable for anyone with dust allergies or breathing problems. The shared bathrooms and toilets smelled odd and had no toilet paper, hand soap, or hand towels. The table and sitting area smelled like dead rats. There were no towels or drinking water by the gym or pool. I had to ask the glamping receptionist for a swimming towel, and 8 of 10 times they weren't there. I also waited over an hour for an extra blanket because it was being used as a substitute for my bed. Just a horrible experience, NOT WORTH 350K per night. A guesthouse would do much better at that price.
