Amans Hotel

After Lion Air canceled my flight, I had to stay overnight in Ambon, and this is where I ended up. The place felt grim. As an American, I found the room very dirty and worn out, with cigarette ash all over the carpet and a faint smoke smell. The bathroom wasn’t clean either. If you’re stuck in the same situation, I’d look for somewhere else to stay.

The hotel sits in a beautiful spot on Ambon, the lovely Indonesian island. It also lets Maluku United use its swimming pool to help children learn to swim. I’d strongly recommend checking it out on a trip.

I haven’t been inside an AMANS hotel, so I can only go by what I’ve seen from outside. It looks lovely, and I often see them keeping the place clean. There’s an ATM beside the AMANS building, and hotel activities seem to happen pretty often. Maybe I could give a better update if I’d been inside. Thank you 🤗

The location is remote and far away, and the food was a drawback. There are older and newer room types. I was in an older one, while my colleagues got the newer rooms. Mine had a problem with the lock, so they upgraded me to the presidential suite. It was very old, probably older than any other hotel I’ve visited, but spacious, with several pieces of furniture and new air conditioning. The newer rooms looked like standard rooms at places such as santika or amaris, so that should be fine.
