Villa Baraka

I wish I could speak with the owner about what happened. My friends and I had saved all year for our dream Bali holiday, but this villa left us bitterly disappointed. It looked lovely, but the way the host, Tamara, treated us spoiled the trip. During our week, we were given just one towel each to use for both showering and the pool. We asked several times for more and were refused. The eight of us were also allocated only one roll of toilet paper per day. When we asked for more, we were told, "this is not a hotel, you were only allowed one per 8 people daily". We had to buy extra at our own expense. We didn't expect to be babysat, but someone was always there despite our wishes, so we couldn't enjoy privacy. Tamara also kept taking photos of us secretly and without consent. We don't know why, though we could only assume she was trying to gather 'evidence' for something. She constantly berated the house staff, who both resigned and were crying on the day we left. They were kind, lovely, and helpful people who didn't deserve that treatment. We feel cheated out of a wonderful holiday because the host was unbearable. We've stayed in other Bali villas and never had service this bad.
