The room was roomy and looked out over town, and breakfast had a standard selection. There was toast with butter and chocolate spread on the second floor, though no sprinkles. It's a seven-floor, three-star hotel in town, about 40 minutes from Pattimura airport. My room's door chain was broken and just hung there uselessly. Both the AC and TV remote batteries were used up and leaking. These things need improvement.

I've been coming here with my wife for the past two years, usually staying 5-9 nights each visit. We can't wait to be back this November. Amaris is our favorite hotel in Ambon. Thanks to all the Amaris staff. Nora is an amazing manager, and Jessica at the front desk is the best. Management should be proud of Nora. Thanks also to the security team, especially Rudy, Chris in housekeeping, and the kitchen staff. Hamza too. Five stars.

The bed and pillows were my favorite part of staying here. I slept like a baby. As a solo traveler, I was happy with my stay, and the welcoming, helpful staff even arranged my Maxim. I especially liked the soto betawi. Families should pick a bigger room, though. I'd stay here again on my next visit.

An earthquake shook the whole building pretty hard while I was staying there. Everyone, me included, got out quickly without bottlenecks or other evacuation problems. The building was still standing afterward, which was a good thing. Pretty good by Indonesian standards.

My room barely had any hot water because the water heater wasn't working properly. Also, the magnetic key can sometimes fail if it touches a phone or another device, so keep it away from electronics.
