The two restaurants were the letdown: the prices were extremely high for small portions, and the food was only okay. The prices just didn't feel worth it. The pool's view over the volcano was breathtaking, especially at sunset. The whole resort felt peaceful and relaxing, a great place to disconnect and enjoy nature. The staff were incredibly kind and attentive, and breakfast was very good. We absolutely loved our stay.

We had a nice stay at East Bali Volcano Resort, which includes Hotel Lempuyang and Villa Drooms. The location on the hillside is stunning, with broad views of the volcano and rice terraces, and the atmosphere feels quiet and romantic. The rooms are stylish, clean, comfortable, and blend modern and Balinese design. At night you can hear birds, dogs, insects, and roosters. Taman Ujung (water palace) and a local market without tourists are nearby. The welcoming team was a real highlight, especially the Balinese women who handle the daily operations, like Tami. They were usually smiling, kind, and keen to help, and some spoke very good English. It seemed to me that foreign investors don't run the place, which would be a good thing. Breakfast was fresh, lovingly prepared, and delicious, with a beautiful view. The simple fruit juices were less creative than at other resorts, had lots of ice, and often tasted rather sour. Restaurant service was excellent, but lunch and dinner didn't feel worth their prices for the quality of the food. When paying a premium nightly rate in a remote region and choosing half board, I expect meals to be more than just good or okay, with at least some dishes very good. Many tasted basic and seemed to use low-cost ingredients, yet the menu charged high-class Bali restaurant prices. It felt as if someone was trying to save money while charging premium prices for everything, especially when fresh, high-quality ingredients are available so cheaply at traditional local markets. We'd already taken several good-value excursions from Ubud, so we didn't try any of the hotel's tours and can't comment on them. There was a price list in the room. This is a beautiful, peaceful hotel with lovely Balinese hospitality and incredible scenery. With some improvements in the kitchen, it could become one of East Bali's hidden gems.

The staff made us feel at home, and we had such a lovely time that I wish we'd stayed longer. This was the best hotel of our Bali holiday. Mount Agung looked beautiful as soon as we stepped outside our room, and the photos don't capture how lovely the place really is. I'd highly recommend staying here.

The infinity pool was my favorite part, with an amazing look across the rice fields to Mount Agung. The staff were so friendly and kept checking that we were comfortable. Our room was spacious and had everything we needed. Breakfast was a special treat, with five tasty courses. I was also surprised to find luxury toiletries and a lovely palm-leaf bag filled with essentials waiting in the room. Those little touches made us feel very welcome. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.

The pool view at sunset, with evening prayers in the background, was something special. The location also worked really well for visiting temples and waterfalls without spending hours in the car. I don’t usually review hotels, partly because you tend to get what you pay for, but this one was an exception. It was warm and welcoming, felt genuinely luxurious, and set the bar for the rest of our Bali trip despite being so affordable. The staff were friendly, and the food was fresh, generous, and delicious.
