Bintang Laut Resort

It’s a large, quiet place and feels peaceful, but the villa is old. The toilet was damaged and wouldn’t flush, and the jet ski and other sea activities were out of order. Renting a speedboat costs 10 million IDR per day, which is too expensive.

The resort has plenty for a family to enjoy, including a private pool, cooking gear, a barbecue set, a sailboat, a speedboat, its own beach, and a kids’ zone. We even got fresh coconut served by the local team, and there’s a private natural hot spring too. With the COVID situation, it seemed like a good private choice for a family vacation in the Carita Beach area. I just wish the rooms and bathrooms got more attention to cleanliness. We stayed in SEA VIEW A for three days and two nights. It was pleasant enough for a family holiday, with nice landscaping by the sea, a large cottage that could fit 14 to over 20 adults, and a big living room with one medium sofa set that can convert to a sofa bed. The dining room seats 12 and the kitchen has complete equipment, but no seasonings, so bring all your food. There’s no breakfast, and no food market near the resort, though a gasoline station is just outside the gate. There are three large bedrooms, each with an ensuite toilet, but no toiletries or amenities. The dorm room also has a toilet, and its bed felt frail, like it might break, so it seems meant for a driver or house assistant. There’s only one small TV in the big living room, no Wi-Fi or internet, medium and small private pools, and no outdoor shower for rinsing off after the beach. We also saw lots of flies and there was no fly lamp or air freshener. For the weekend price, it was just okay and didn’t feel worth it.

The view is amazing, and the employees are friendly and nice. The public facilities need work, though. The toilet needs repairs because the shower was broken, and there’s a lot of sharp reef along the beach.
