We had a nearly perfect experience, about 4.9 for me. We stayed in a Samudra Pasifik type, a 2 story house with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The villa area felt private, with a shared garden that had plenty of coconut trees and plants. It was nice for exercising or flying drones. Parking was plentiful, with 2 private carpool and more spaces in the lobby area. Inside, the bedrooms and main gathering room downstairs all had AC. The place was spacious, clean, and felt homey. There's a semi-private beach, though you can walk freely to other parts of the beach without a fee. The water wasn't the best, but it was clean, with no debris floating around, and the sand was good. There was also a built-in goal stand for playing football. Local guides offer banana boat and jetsky rides, and ATV rentals too. Jetsky was around 250k for 10 minutes, banana boat was 200k, and ATV was around 50-80k for 6 laps from one end of the beach to the other. Those seemed fair, and you can still haggle. The pool was small and a bit "sandy," though not dirty. The staff, from the front desk and technicians to the restaurant servers, were friendly and helpful, and seemed used to handling big vacation crowds. Breakfast was disappointing for me, with minimal choices and food that wasn't that great. Beach merchants offer freshly caught prawns and sometimes "lobster," though you'll have to judge whether that lobster is real or just a large prawn/cray. One thing to watch: they have had a lot of trouble with hackers on their website. Make sure you use the correct contact address. If you book through agoda or another app, check the breakfast coupon terms with the hotel first.
The staff and security team were very friendly, and I'd definitely recommend staying here. We were in Samudra Indonesia 1, right next to the pool. It looks small from outside, but there's a surprising amount of room inside. There are two master bedrooms with king-size beds, one with a balcony upstairs, as well as two more rooms with twin beds and two bathrooms. The villa also has a living room, dining area, and kitchen. It came with a TV, fridge, hot & cold water dispenser, gas stove, dish soap, bathroom amenities, plates, cutlery, glasses, pans, and a kettle. Handy if you want to cook without bringing much from home. The building is older, so some doors are worn and the bathrooms are a little rusty. Still, the villa was clean and comfortably cool. The living room has AC, and the AC in all the bedrooms had already been turned on before we checked in.
For a comfortable, clean place to stay in a convenient spot, The Jayakarta Hotel was good value for money. The atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful, and the free Wi-Fi worked reliably. The complimentary breakfast was simple but had a decent range of choices, and getting to local attractions and public transportation was easy. The staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout, from reception to housekeeping. My room wasn't especially spacious, but it was well maintained and had comfortable bedding, working AC, and a clean private bathroom. The rooms and common areas were impeccably clean, which really stood out to me. It's a 4-star hotel, so I wasn't expecting luxury extras. Still, my recent stay was a pleasant surprise. For travelers on a budget who want a good level of comfort and service, The Jayakarta Hotel is a solid choice. A 4-star rating can add up to a very satisfying stay.
I stayed from Monday until Thursday, 3 nights. The first 2 nights were okay. There's not much here besides the room and beachfront. The only other facility is a small pool, with no lounge chairs around it. The room was quite spacious, and I could sit on the balcony and enjoy the sea view. The AC worked, though it wasn't very cold. The bathtub looked broken and rusty, and water took a while to drain from the sink, so I don't think the drainage was working properly. Breakfast was very basic, nothing special, and they seriously need to deal with the flies for sanitation. I liked how quiet the place was, so it seemed good for relaxing. Then on my 3rd day there was an event with people singing NONSTOP for HOURS. It was horrible and so disturbing. If they were having a singing competition, couldn't they hold it indoors or turn the volume down? I don't know what to say….
This was our first vacation stay here, in the 4 bedroom Samudera Indonesia that we booked by WA. We got there around 4 PM, and when my sister went inside she found it hadn't been fully cleaned. The floors were still very dirty and hadn't been mopped, and there were lots of cockroaches. I suggest spraying the whole villa after each use. We arrived 2 hours later than the usual 2 PM check-in, so it wasn't as if we were early. The villa itself is spacious, with 4 rooms, 2 on each floor. But the stairs are narrow and poorly maintained, with cracks across the steps and handrail. The furniture was old, the sofa was hollow, and the dispenser was old too. I didn't recognize the water Gallon brand, which looked like a local refill gallon. The shower room also needs maintenance. It seems there used to be a sliding glass door, but it's gone, as you can see in my attached picture. If you're planning to cook, bring your own rice cooker and other utensils. Most importantly, pack bug repellant / spray. You can buy it at indomaret near the entrance of the hotel. The pool isn't very big and will get crowded on weekends. Breakfast was standard, pretty tasty, but there wasn't much to choose from. The good part is that it's close to the beach, and you can explore there until 10PM. It's good for kids, with activities like ATV, banana boot, and jetski. The Hotel and Villa really need a HUGE renovation. Also, if you stay on a weekend and want peace and quiet, this isn't the place for you. I could hear people partying and singing all night, around 11 PM and they were still at it.
