The rooms were spotless, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. Nibbana used to be a bustling resort, but is struggling to restart after the hard hit COVID dealt to hotels and resorts along much of the northern coast. It’s outside town, peaceful, and has stunning sea views.

A lovely, clean hotel with helpful staff, and best of all, it welcomes pets. It’s a great choice if you want somewhere quiet and remote in North Bali. The infinity pool looks out over rice paddies to the sea, and it’s a great spot for sunrise. Breakfast was adequate for the affordable price. Bicycles are free to use if you want to ride downhill to the beach, about five minutes away. The Wi-Fi came and went, but that wasn’t a big deal. I’d love to stay again.

The Bali Nibbana Resort is about 20 minutes from Lovina and worked well as a break after Munduk, before we went on to Pemuteran and then Batur. It’s a beautiful, spacious property with several rooms in little house-like buildings, a garden, and a large infinity pool overlooking the valley and rice terraces. The rooms are nice, though they’re missing some basic practical equipment, so ask ahead about things like a hair dryer or paying by card. You can rent a scooter, or arrange for someone to drive you for a reasonable price. We took a driver to Batur. If you need somewhere to stay in northern Bali, I recommend it.

The garden is lovely and well cared for, and the people nearby are friendly. Learning a little basic Indonesian helps break the barrier. The pool at the back has a beautiful view, with a fantastic sunrise around 6am since it faces east. The beach is only a 10 minute walk away. Rooms and bathrooms are large and very clean, with plenty of hot water and toiletries. The restaurant menu is limited, but the food is delicious, and more choices would help for a longer stay. You can hire a motorbike at the front office for 100ooo rp per day, $10 au. It’s peaceful, the staff are lovely, and the price is reasonable compared with nearby villas. Built in Balinese style, it’s not as plush as some villas built by foreigners nearby, but it’s less expensive too. If you don’t want the Kuta scene, you’ll love the quiet beaches, scenery, and temples. Easily four star.

Such a lovely place, with a beautiful garden and friendly staff. Everything was clean, and the view from the pool was amazing!
