The bombolonis were the standout for me, easily the most memorable thing on the menu. The food overall was decent, Mediterranean-influenced, and served in a relaxed setting. You can come in to dine without staying at the hotel, which is a nice option, and the staff were warm and helpful without hovering. La Santa Rosa is in quiet Balangan Bali, so it feels calm and spacious without being cut off. The rustic tropical design, lush greenery, and turquoise pools give the property a serene feel. There are different kinds of rooms too, from bungalows surrounded by nature to large presidential suites.

The lobster roll was very good, and the restaurant itself has a pleasant, relaxing feel. The palms, white stone, and marble are nicely done. Still, getting to lunch was frustrating. We live nearby and were told about the 200k pp minimum spend three times in five minutes by three different staff members. We were then asked to pay upfront before even seeing the menu. There are no indoor seats, either. At that point I wanted to leave, but my partner wanted me to try the food. The first greeting wasn't a hello or a how are you, just the minimum spend information. I'd suggest replacing the scruffy black staff uniforms with something more modern and stylish. It's a beautiful place with good food, and I hope management can sort out some of these issues. Maybe next time will be a better experience.

The homemade granola was delicious, a lovely way to start the day, and the staff were kind and genuinely helpful. I felt well looked after. La Santa Rosa was a peaceful, romantic stay, with rooms set among lush greenery. The little touches made it feel special: cleaning twice a day, evening turndown, fresh water, slippers beside the bed, cookies, and a Bali flower. It felt grounding and pampering at the same time. I'd recommend it to anyone after a serene, intimate stay in Uluwatu.

The visit ended before we even ordered. We drove from Nusa Dua for a light breakfast, then heard there was a 200K IDR per person minimum spend, a rule we couldn't find on the website or social media. The staff started out polite, but when we asked why it wasn't disclosed online, they became dismissive and judgmental instead of explaining. It felt like they thought our problem was the price, not the lack of transparency. With so few breakfast choices, the minimum spend seems ridiculous. There was uncovered construction around the property, which spoiled the building's aesthetic. Workers in the parking lot and near the front gate catcalled us, and we felt so uncomfortable that we cancelled our plans straight away. We won't eat here or book a stay in the future. Avoid at all cost.

The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are lovely, but we couldn't find a quiet moment during our four nights. From 9 in the morning to 9 at night, people who weren't staying there crowded the pool, paths, and common areas, posing for photos. New groups kept arriving every 10-15 minutes, taking pictures, then leaving as another group came in. It went on all day and was exhausting. It felt like anyone buying a drink could wander around the hotel and take as many photos as they wanted, apparently in exchange for a glowing Google review. That may explain the ratings, so don't be fooled. There was no privacy at all, and what could have been a beautiful stay was frustrating and disappointing. The place looked like a dream, but living there felt like being trapped in an endless influencer circus.
