Mercure Sanur Resort

Sanur is one of our favourite parts of Bali. It’s quieter than Kuta, has a good range of restaurants and bars, and the beach is reasonably clean. It suited us perfectly since we weren’t looking for a party spot. There’s a paved path along the beachfront for walking and cycling that runs for many kilometres, and you can rent bikes at the hotel. The resort has two pools and a nice bar by the beach. We enjoyed both the buffet dinner and breakfast. Our upstairs Executive room had a balcony and plenty of space, with everything we needed. It was a little dated, but spotlessly clean. The hotel sits right on the beach, with low two-storey blocks spread through lush gardens and winding paths that link to the facilities. We really liked the calm, relaxed feel. The staff were friendly and welcoming every time we interacted with them. Even the groundskeepers waved and called out “good morning” while we sat on the balcony. It’s good value for money. We recently stayed at the much pricier Sofitel at Nusa Dua. It was a bit more modern, but we preferred the Mercure atmosphere at half the price.

The staff made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. They were friendly, professional, and genuinely warm throughout. We also enjoyed breakfast, which had a satisfying range of options for different tastes. Mercure Resort Sanur is right by the beach in one of Sanur’s quieter, nicer areas, with direct access to the shore and seaside promenade. It’s lovely for a relaxing walk, especially in the morning. The tropical gardens are well cared for and give the place a calm Balinese feel. There are two clean, well-maintained pools, both with bar service. Our room was spacious and practical. Some parts of the resort have a more traditional look, but everything was kept in good shape and fit the property’s character. It’s a dependable choice for a quiet, relaxing stay away from busier parts of Bali, and I’d happily stay again.

My daughter loved going back and forth between the pool and the beach, which made the stay especially fun and relaxing. We also enjoyed the nearby seaside cafés for casual meals and evening walks. The hotel is right on the beach, and its location was very convenient. We spent six days at Mercure Hotel Sanur Bali over Christmas. Our room was spacious, breakfast had an enjoyable variety, and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Special thanks to Mrs. Yudi, who sorted out a glitch with our breakfast arrangement and surprised my daughter with a thoughtful gift. That made the stay more memorable.

The beachfront was a favourite, with lovely spots for morning walks, time by the sea, and sunset watching. The resort itself felt peaceful and beautiful, with gardens that added to the relaxing atmosphere. The location was just right, the rooms were comfortable and well kept, and the pool area was fantastic. Breakfast offered plenty of choice and the food was very good. The staff were genuinely warm, attentive, and glad to help, so we felt well looked after throughout our stay. We’d happily return and highly recommend it.
