Nick's Hidden Cottage

From the long entrance path to the beautiful, distinctive cottages tucked into lush greenery, Nick's Hidden Cottage feels like a peaceful retreat right in Ubud. The path itself felt magical. Even with the calm setting, it’s close enough to walk into the center, with plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. The staff were warm and welcoming, and treated us like family. They were quick to help whenever we needed anything, and kept the rooms clean and comfortable throughout our stay. It’s a lovely balance of convenience and quiet. Highly recommend this hidden gem for the charm and calm of Ubud!

I’ve been coming to Nick's Hidden Cottags for three years in a row. Everything is clean, organized, and well managed. The garden and pool are wonderful, the staff are friendly and lovely, and there are hot showers and a bathtub for soaking. There’s no hairdryer in the room, but staff will bring one if you ask. To get to central Ubud, someone can show you a shortcut that passes the front desk of another Nick's hotel. You can’t use it unless you tell them you’re a guest of Nick's Hidden Cottages. Pro tip: stuffing tissues into the window gaps kept mosquitoes and geckos out during my stay. ☺️

We were just a five-minute walk from Ubud’s main street, but it felt like we were right at the edge of the lush jungle. Our room’s terrace had an amazing view, and the place was quiet. The staff were super friendly and supportive. They even did ‘night rounds’ or ‘anti mosquito rounds’, bringing anti mosquito incense and closing the mosquito nets around the bed. I’d definitely stay here again.

It was a peaceful, relaxing stay, and the pool area was good and clean enough to enjoy. We were only about 10 minutes from the center of Ubud, with all the markets and restaurants you could want. Pool towels were available just one day out of the four we were there, so it would have been better to have them more often. The bedrooms could use a revamp, but they’re pleasant enough as they are.
