Puri Wulandari a Boutique Resort and Spa

The staff were gracious and helpful, and the resort shuttle made it easy to enjoy Ubud’s lively village atmosphere. Our villa, with its private infinity pool overlooking the jungle valley, was breathtaking. The grounds were beautiful, and the whole resort was clean and well maintained. It was so peaceful. We loved our three nights here. The most magical, unique place I’ve ever stayed, and I highly recommend it.

The staff knew our names before we’d learned theirs, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The villa paths are steep, but a buggy was always available to take us to the villa or bring us to the restaurant or lobby. We stayed nine nights in a two-bedroom villa at Puri Wulandari and checked out a few days ago. It was a lovely mix of forest-facing quiet, with rafters audible in the distance from the river below. The villa pool was a good size and cleaned regularly. Rooms were serviced twice a day, though we could easily change that schedule. Wifi was mostly reliable, but the signal dropped briefly fairly often. The beds were firmer than we’d have liked, though that seems normal in Bali. Package meals were very good, with breakfasts mostly egg-based. We skipped the on-site a-la-carte restaurant and took the free shuttle to Ubud center or a Grab (Uber) to the excellent, well-priced restaurants within a 20-minute drive. We’d return in a heartbeat.

The villas are tucked into a hillside above the deep green Ayung River valley, surrounded by jungle and rice fields. Each one feels private, with traditional Balinese design, thatched roofs, open airy spaces, and its own pool. It’s a quiet little refuge for relaxing, romance, and feeling close to nature. Puri Wulandari has a rhythm of its own. Spa rituals, floating breakfasts, and dinners under the stars all add to the calm and beauty of the place. It feels like a rare hidden gem, where luxury and nature come together in a way that almost seems unreal.

My first solo trip felt safe, special, and unforgettable here. I spent a week at Puri Wulandari, and the staff took such good care of me. Everyone I met was warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. They checked how I was doing, remembered details, and made sure I had what I needed. Communication across the team was excellent. The villa was beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by nature. I loved the food and the views, and the included activities were a lovely bonus. Highlights were the floating breakfast, massages, cooking class, and guided rice paddy trek. One of the most memorable stays I’ve had, and I’d definitely return. Thanks to all the staff!
