Swiss-Belhotel Segara

It was my first trip to Bali, and I really enjoyed staying here. The staff were very polite, maybe even overly so. The food was great and didn’t cost much more than eating at restaurants in Bali Collection. I also tried a massage for the first time at the Hotel Spa and had a really good experience. There’s a free ride to the beach and Bali Collection almost every hour. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at.

We booked two rooms, numbers 325 and 327, but both had a strong sewage smell. The bathrooms looked run down, and when I complained about the smell, we didn’t get much help. We cancelled the booking and moved to another hotel. We only had lunch at the restaurant and spent a couple of hours in the room, so we didn’t use the pool or other facilities. The staff seemed hardworking and keen, but the owners need to put money into the infrastructure. The photos on Agoda and similar sites are misleading, probably taken by a professional. This doesn’t feel like a 4-star hotel at all, more like a 3 or 3.5 at best. If you’re after budget accommodation with pools, it might suit you. Otherwise, I’d spend extra and choose a 5-star hotel.

The staff were really nice and attentive, and the pools were great. They even had floaties. We booked a pool access room so the kids could swim happily all day. It was spacious, with a big bed, and there’s a free shuttle to the nearest beach. Good value for money.

The grounds are lovely and green, great for a walk, and the pool is awesome. It’s a very large, nice hotel with really friendly staff. They even give you a free photograph if you stay more than three days. My one suggestion is to add more vegetarian choices, since there aren’t many at the moment. We had a nice time.
