The Grand Bali Nusa Dua

For what you pay, this is great value. Cynthia and daisy at the spa were especially professional and explained everything clearly. We had one of the best couples massages ever. They talked us through the massage room before the session, then kept quiet and focused on the massage once it began. Lovely, friendly service from them and throughout the hotel.

We chose Grand Bali for a special getaway to celebrate my spouse’s birthday, hoping for that 90s-2000s Bali feel around Nusa Dua. It’s a well-kept vintage hotel, clean and spacious, with a pleasant smell. The service team upgraded us to a one-bedroom villa with birthday decorations and a cake. I’d rate the experience mostly 5/5.

The hotel is calm and quiet, with not many guests around. The rooms are big, clean, and comfortable, the pool is nice and kid-friendly, and breakfast is good too. They have their own area on Nusa Dua beach, which you can reach by shuttle. Very nice!

The front desk staff member was incredibly helpful even though she was working alone. With no bellboy around, she carried my luggage herself, going up and down the stairs with a bright smile. The room, though, was old and smelled strongly, especially the toilet. The air con was so loud I had to wear my ANC earphones to block it out, and the balcony was unbelievably dirty, as if it hadn’t been cleaned in ages. It was unusable. I booked this hotel at the last minute after leaving another one because of a health hazard, and I have to say this place was no better. The experience has put me off returning to Bali.
