The location worked well, though nearby venues with bands could be heard playing late into the night. Smoking outside the rooms was more of a problem than we expected. When people a few doors away lit up, the smoke often drifted into our space, both indoors and out. The room was adequately clean, but the place felt short on care. Our mattress was soft foam that sagged badly, so we asked for a replacement. They offered one from another room, but I felt bad for the next guests. It was very firm and still uncomfortable, though it gave more support. It also seemed musty, mouldy, and dirty. They don’t use mattress protectors. The safe was a small lockable unit that someone could simply pick up and carry away. We wouldn’t stay here again.

Sari Indah Cottages is a good base for either relaxing or getting out to see Kuta's sights. It’s close enough to explore, while still feeling like a place to unwind.

The location is good, and the owner family are very nice. But the staff's behaviour was completely inappropriate. One slim, long-haired employee and a short young guy took my Hurley bathing shorts. They only returned them after I saw the first guy wearing them and showed him photos of me in the shorts. They said they'd found them while cleaning the room after we switched rooms. Since we were still staying there, they could easily have returned them or asked whether they were ours. To me, that was theft. Our airpods have also been missing since that day. The young short guy found both items, as I understand it, and kept the airpods while the other one took the shorts. We didn't raise this with the owners because we didn't want to cause them trouble or harm their business. They were friendly and had nothing personally to do with it. Still, keep an eye on the staff. I'm sharing this to warn other travelers and to let the owner know it may be time to replace those two boys at reception. I also have a photo of the guy wearing my shorts.

We were there for just one night. It’s basic rather than luxurious, but for the price it had everything we needed, and the stay was a good experience without any disappointment or unpleasant surprise. The mattress wasn’t especially comfortable.
