The Sowan Ubud

We spent two unforgettable weeks at this family-run accommodation in Ubud. The rooms were spacious, and the whole property, including the pool, was fantastic. Our four-year-old daughter loved it. What stayed with us most was how kind and warm the host family were. They helped us throughout our stay and supported us through a particularly difficult time. We felt a deep connection with them; their values are wonderful, and they truly make guests feel like family. It’s also a great spot for families, with Bali Family Hangout right next door, an amazing place for kids. We’ll definitely return. Thank you again for everything you did for us!

It’s a warm, family-run place with a cozy, homelike feel. The room was roomy and breakfast was good. It’s a little way from Ubud’s center, but that suited me for a quiet, peaceful stay. I’d recommend it.

Five days turned into fifteen because I liked staying here so much. The surroundings were lovely, the villas were quiet, and the people looking after them were great. One bathroom could do with some renovation, though its water pressure beat the one in the fancier villa, so each had its own good point. There are some excellent restaurants nearby. We were given a free upgrade to a superior villa. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly and shared useful tips about the island. After busy days out, the pool was a lovely way to relax. The WiFi was a bit unreliable, but we didn't mind since we wanted to spend less time on our phones. I'd definitely recommend it.
