I can understand why some people might find this place a bit shocking, but it didn’t seem that bad to me, especially considering the low price. I spent two days there while travelling around Indonesia two years ago. I try to stay open-minded and grateful for the experiences I get when I travel. The owner was incredibly kind and told us lots of interesting stories you don’t find in guidebooks or in hostels full of tourists. That was a unique experience for me. You have to get deep into the local culture and respect the differences to have it. Thank you, and sorry I’m leaving this comment so late.

For only RM 40, you get what you pay for. The owner is nice, and breakfast is served in your room. Keep in mind it’s a guest house, not a hotel. If you don’t mind what the bedroom looks like, it’s a good deal.

The location is good, right on the main street with cafes and food around the clock. It’s a basic guesthouse, but the pictures look better than the place does in person. The bathroom wasn’t in good condition.

A really cheap budget room, good for backpackers. There’s no locker, and there’s one restroom on the second floor. It has a fan and WiFi, sits close to the main road, and there’s lots of food nearby. Easy to get around from here.

A nice guest house for backpackers, though I wouldn’t suggest it for honeymooners. Aceh Tsunami Museum and PLTD Apung 1 are within walking distance, and there are lots of food cart vendors along the road out front at night.
