Hotel 61 Banda Aceh

The staff were friendly and helpful, and the A&W nasi lemak breakfast was great. The room felt like five-star quality at a two-star price, easily the best deal in Aceh. Everything was super clean and brand new, and the location was great.

Our family often stays at Hotel 61 Banda Aceh because both the rooms and the service are really comfortable. Whenever I think of Hotel 61 Banda Aceh, I remember Mr. Lubis, who’s so friendly and quick to help.

The room was very nice, and the location made it easy to get around. Mie Razali is a short walk away for Acehnese noodles, and you can cross the street for souvenirs or a meal at Gunung Salju, which was delicious. I also walked to Nasi Gervasi Pak Rasyid in the morning, and the Grand Mosque is nearby too. Hokben, Mixue, and AW are around there, with AW in the lobby. I’d highly recommend it to someone travelling solo to Aceh for the first time.

The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable, and the bathrooms are clean too, with enough amenities. The hotel occupies the second, third, and fourth floors and has a working elevator. It’s cleverly made from two shophouses, with an A&W fast food outlet, so breakfast comes from AW rather than a dedicated kitchen. The lobby is minimalist and tiny, just 2.5 by 4 meters, but it fits a receptionist, two check-in chairs, stairs, elevator access, and restaurant access. Surprisingly efficient. We checked out at 4:30 a.m., well before the 6:00 breakfast time, and they prepared our requested takeout right then. Worth staying here.
