At Lala Hostel, the owner was really kind and helped me with everything I needed to plan my trip through Sumatra. The rooms are very comfortable and fully air-conditioned, and there's a kitchen guests can use. I was almost the only guest, perhaps because it was low season or this part of Sumatra is more authentic and away from the usual backpacker route. It was amazing, though.

I had a wonderful week at Lala hostel. The staff were so kind and helpful, and it's clean, affordable, and has good wifi and AC. There are lots of restaurants nearby too. I'd definitely recommend it, and hope to visit again 😀

The staff taught me a lot about Aceh and its history, and were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. The rooms are small, but the beds are very comfortable, with privacy curtains and AC that works perfectly. Bathrooms are clean, with soap and toilet paper provided. For a hostel, the standard is exceptional, and LaLa goes above and beyond for the price.

I used Lala hostel for two stays, 20-22 April and then 25-26 April. It was good value and not far from the center of Banda Aceh. The staff were friendly, gave me helpful tips, and spoke English very well. I also rented a scooter for a day, which saved me having to find somewhere else to return it afterward.
