OYO Life 3982 Azka Homestay Syariah

I saw an online promo, booked a motorbike taxi to this remote spot, and then found out there was no promo after all. They said the system was being repaired, so I paid three times the advertised price. I was tired and it was late, so I stayed, but I won't come back. The room was clean and comfortable, but for that price I expected at least a complimentary bottle of Aqua and a GT of hot water. There wasn't any soap in the shower either, and food stalls were far away, so I ordered GoFood. For Jakarta's usual OYO prices, this still feels way off.

I'm really disappointed. After traveling a long way, I arrived to find no receptionist or security guard. I called, and a woman in a dress came out. She said bookings couldn't be made through the app, that they usually dealt directly, and that I couldn't even pay by transfer. She also said things had changed and it wasn't Oyo anymore. Then she said renting a room meant paying again, at as much as three times the price. The money I'd paid through Agoda was forfeited 😂 The amount isn't the point, I wanted to help the homestay owner, but if they aren't with Oyo anymore, they shouldn't advertise on online booking platforms and cause losses for people. The homestay is in an alley, and people wouldn't find it without an app. When app bookings aren't honored, customers feel cheated. Homestay owners, please don't add to your sins by deceiving more people.

Very disappointed. I booked through Agoda, but the hotel canceled because they didn't accept the price, and the customer was told to pay extra to get a room. We were simply customers booking through the app, so any issue was between the app and the hotel owner. The hotel is tucked down an alley, and without the app, how would anyone know where it is?

There was no receptionist, just a housekeeper, and the room didn't match the OYO/Agoda description. If the app showed a low price, they canceled it, claiming there were no orders. We were told to pay directly at twice the Agoda price, with the excuse that they were full and only had one room left. The AC wasn't cold, there was no Wi-Fi, and the water heater didn't work. The TV had no channels and was just a display, like watching spilled rice. I swear, I can't recommend it.
