They asked me for an extra 100,000 IDR, saying the rooms were full and I could upgrade. I complained through the app about the check-in issue, and they helped follow up with the room owner. After that complaint, the owner called me. I told them that if they wanted the full price, they had to give us a 5-star rating on the app we were booking with. They also demanded an extra fee and pressured me.

I only found out at the apartment that the owner wanted another 250,000 Rupiah, more than the room itself cost. They said it was because of the long weekend, but neither RedDoorz nor the owner had warned me beforehand. It felt like I was being pressured to pay once I arrived.

Please be careful about staying here. When we arrived yesterday, the owner said the unit we booked was full and wanted another 100,000 IDR for an upgrade. I checked the app afterward and it still showed four rooms available. If their availability wasn't updated, that's on the owner, not us, and the room provider should take responsibility for any extra charge. They also suggested canceling through the app, even though cancellations after 1 PM are non-refundable. I had already read Traveloka's terms, so I didn't agree to that. It seemed the owner could benefit by keeping the room empty after we canceled, while we got no refund. Don't let yourself be pushed into paying or canceling this way. There are plenty of inexpensive places elsewhere that aren't as sneaky.
