Scarlet Dago Hotel

The staff deserve credit. They were accommodating: after I said my non-smoking room smelled of cigarettes, the receptionist did her best to find another room, and staff brought the extra towels, ice cubes, and new hairdryer I requested. The room size is good for the price, and the location in Dago is great. The furniture and appliances feel outdated, and the room lighting is poor. The yellow light over the bed isn't good for your eyesight. With a prime location like this, management should invest in refurbishing the hotel.

We like staying here when we visit Bandung. The family room fits four people in two wide beds at an affordable price, and the room was clean with friendly staff. Breakfast had very few food choices, and parking is quite limited, but I'd still recommend it for families trying to save on hotel costs.

The staff were friendly, which was the one good thing about the stay. Everything else felt run down. The parking was narrow, with a steep basement ramp that could scrape the bottom of your car. Inside, the place seemed old and weathered, and the carpet to the room was stained and dirty. Our linen was dull and dirty, with red stains, while the walls were peeling. The bathroom floor, walls, and shower partition were moldy and grimy, and there was a bad smell. The room AC stayed hot even after it had been repaired. The price didn't match the facilities.

The room was comfortable for four adults, and the wide table across it was a nice touch, with enough room for all our belongings. The family room could be better for families with a baby, though. The restroom made diaper changes and bathing difficult, and the shower is fixed to the wall, so you can't take it down. Parking is small even though there are lots of rooms. We got just one access card for four adults. When someone used it to turn on the room lights, the rest of us couldn't use the elevator or open the door from outside. Still, the stairs are good for our health!
