Golden Flower Hotel Bandung

The room had plenty of space, but felt extremely old. The carpet smelled unpleasant, the wardrobe and doors were peeling, and I also noticed peeling doors in other rooms. The sink leaked, and because our first-floor room faced the main road with no soundproofing, it was very noisy. I can't say whether all rooms are like this or just the one I booked through Agoda. The outside and lobby look grand and beautiful, and there were lots of guests, including tour groups arriving by bus. The hotel has a swimming pool and complete facilities in a very convenient location. One surprise was the parking charge: I'd assumed it was free for guests, but cars pay a one-time IDR 5,000 fee at the entrance.

We stayed two nights. The morning after our first night, they moved us to another floor because work was going on where we'd been staying. It seemed poorly planned. At least the staff were polite, friendly, and helpful, though they struggled with English. The grand exterior and lovely booking-site pictures give a misleading first impression. Inside, the rooms badly need repairs and upkeep. The doors took a lot of effort to open and close; carpets were stained, peeling, and mouldy, so we couldn't stand on them barefoot. Shower knobs could fall off, and the water temperature and pressure kept changing. The bathrooms had stains and mould too. The sheets were clean, but the towels were a bit stained and discoloured. Some rooms have newer TVs that support internet content, while others only have grainy cable. For this price, I expected better. I could accept the condition if the rate were lower, but the rooms don't match what they're charging. Management needs to do a major upgrade to keep this price point.

The small mirror message and towel animals were a lovely surprise, and I really appreciated them. The whole staff, especially the Front Office team, were kind and helpful during my stay. Thanks also to the General Manager for the warm welcome. Wishing the hotel continued success.

It's an upscale place for a competitive price, near the city center and famous Braga road. Our Superior Room had two single beds, a carpeted floor, a mini fridge, hot shower, TV, cleaning supplies, free tea and coffee, and two free towels. Four breakfasts were included. On the fifth floor there's a free pool and fitness room with equipment, while the spa costs extra. Basement parking is available too.
