The location is superb, with jln. Braga, Alun Alun and jln Tamblon nearby. Service at reception is excellent, and room service and cleaning are handled by very friendly, caring staff. Mas Rasya in particular takes great pride in working for Savoy Homann. Savoy Homann is a spacious, elegant heritage hotel in Art Deco style. Its age does show, and some parts of the building need major renovation: some electrical sockets have no power. The internet is hopeless, with Wi-Fi and television streaming below an adequate level.

We loved the hotel’s stately, nostalgic character, which made it feel distinctive and welcoming. Its position was very convenient for exploring the famous shopping street in Braga, with the city center and lively food street both an easy walk away. The indoor pool was a nice extra for relaxing after sightseeing, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We had a very pleasant time here.

The hotel is known for its historical significance, but the facilities were only just okay and the internet was HORRIBLE. My connection kept dropping, so I repeatedly called the front office to complain. They came quickly to check what was wrong, but the problem wasn’t fixed. The connection also didn’t seem secure because there was no password. I’ve read other reviews saying people noticed suspicious credit card charges seconds after connecting. If you need to work while you’re in Bandung, don’t stay here. It’s only worth considering if you want to show your parents or guests the hotel’s history.

On my second visit to Nusa Penida, I had a better tour than the one I took the first time. The guide was more attentive, and the pacing was better overall.

The location is great, and the hotel has an Art Deco historic feel. But the staff and management need to do better: I saw and experienced no help with bags, even though the lobby has steps. Their guest rules are strange too. Durian, moving the bed, stains, stoves, and pets can all bring penalties, but weapons apparently don't (see enc.).
