It’s clean, but the room is small, windowless and dark. There’s AC, though I barely used it, and I don’t think there was Wi-Fi since I just used my phone. No TV, no handbasin or mirror, and the shower was cold. Walking to a decent restaurant isn’t convenient. There are a few street food sellers, plus an Indomart one way and an Alfamart the other, down a dark back street. The surrounding streets are poorly lit and look like a ghetto. With transport, though, you’re only a few minutes from Braga st and the monument.

We had confirmation from the website for a room with two beds, but when we asked for it, the staff said we’d made a mistake and booked just one. That was obviously false. At arrival, the receptionist ignored our “hallo,” then hustled my friend through the door. I’d been a usually satisfied client, and this was my first bad experience in seven months of travelling in Asia. I’d strongly advise against staying here if you don’t want to deal with someone mean and, frankly, an idiot.

The price is affordable, and there’s AC, a heater, and mineral water available free-flow.
