Vasaka Maison Bandung

The room itself was fine, but the bathroom was tiny, and the shower in room 720 looked very old and leaked in several places. A shower upgrade would make a big difference. Breakfast didn’t offer much variety either. Without the Indomie section, I’d call it pretty basic. Parking was another frustrating part of the stay. The area is extremely small, and my car ended up parked far away, so I had to wait a long time before I could drive home. It really brought down the whole experience. We also weren’t offered anything complimentary or an upgrade for our anniversary or birthdays, even though I’d emailed them in advance with good intentions. There’s plenty here that could be improved, and I hope they take this feedback seriously.

Breakfast was average, and the service and facilities didn’t feel worth the price. The reception staff also seemed less friendly to foreigners than to locals, which didn’t match what I’d read in other reviews. In room 613, several things needed replacing: the sofa was broken, as were the shower holder and clothes hanger. The bathroom floor looked dirty despite its dark color, and the drain was so slow that shower water pooled around my feet. I had to complain twice before the drainage was fixed. Housekeeping also needs more care. One of my blouses was nearly ruined by ironing over the buttons, which left marks on the dark cotton fabric. Parking was a major hassle too. The spaces are narrow and hard to maneuver in, and getting out may mean reversing all the way to the main road. Near the exit, something, perhaps a drain or uneven road surface, scraped my rear bumper each time. I’m not sure which it was, but other reviews have mentioned the problem and it still seems unresolved. Check your car carefully, especially if you use valet parking.

The place looks lovely and is close to the town square, but breakfast was disappointing. I arrived around 9 a.m. and the only chicken dish had run out. I asked three times whether more was coming, and when it finally appeared there were only about five pieces. A couple of families came in after that, so I don’t know if they got any. Eggs were the only other protein; the rest was carbs and vegetables. There was also a mix-up with the booking price. I was told 800K for 24 hours, but at check-in it turned out to be 1000K for 24 hours. That was upsetting.

The cozy feel and interior design made the stay enjoyable, and the room was clean and nice. The air conditioner did take a while to cool down, though. I also noticed the white door wasn’t very clean, and there was quite a buildup of water stains in the bathroom. Still, I’d consider coming back to Vasaka Maison Bandung.
