Vue Palace, ARTOTEL Curated

We arrived early and the staff kindly let us check in ahead of time. Everyone was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was delicious. It’s also well placed for exploring on foot, including Braga Street and Pasar Baru. A lovely stay, highly recommended.

The one clear plus was the strategic location. The staff were polite and friendly throughout, and the receptionist handled our concerns professionally. We knew this was an older hotel and weren’t expecting luxury, just a comfortable stay, but that didn’t happen for us. We tried to upgrade a week before arrival and again while there, but were told it was fully booked because of a large government event. Disappointing, though understandable. On Friday, we arrived around 2 PM and were told at check-in that towels would be brought to our room shortly. We waited about two hours without being able to shower or get ready to go out, which disrupted our plans. The hair dryer then turned out to be broken. Staff responded quickly, but the replacement was broken too, so we had to call again before getting one that worked. On the second night, the air conditioning stopped, leaving the room too warm and making it hard to sleep. The room itself also fell short. Tiles beside the bed were broken, the blanket and floor had visible stains, and the bathtub looked old, though we could have accepted that if it worked. After we requested cleaning, there was still hair on the dirty floor and no fresh toilet paper. The maintenance, cleaning, and room facilities need significant improvement. Maybe we caught the hotel at an unlucky time, but our experience was far below what we’d hoped for.

The team, from the admin and receptionist to the other staff, were warm, helpful, and quick to respond. My room at Vue Palace, ARTOTEL Curated was clean and comfortable, and the location close to BDG station made everything easy. I got to BDG earlier than expected and they kindly gave me a FREE early check-in, so I had time to rest before exploring Bandung. Really appreciated that. I’d love to stay here again, thank you!

Braga and the train station are conveniently close, but our two-day stay was disappointing. On the first day, the room light kept blinking because its switch was broken, and the air conditioner didn’t cool the room properly. The room and bathroom both looked old and worn, and seemed due for renovation. The next day we moved rooms, but were given a key to one that was already occupied. That was awkward and left us uneasy about security and room management. The new room also looked worn. It had no sofa or fridge, even though family members staying in the same room type had both. The hotel could make these things more consistent and improve the rooms for future guests.
