ZOE Guest House

There’s no breakfast at Zoe Guest House, but plenty of cafes and restaurants are close by. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and they accommodated my late check-in. I slept well in this cozy, affordable place. It was clean and comfortable, and with Bandung’s cool weather I didn’t need AC.

The family room was clean enough for our two-night stay, and the rate felt fair for a nice place. We had complimentary water, though the amenities were limited, the Wi-Fi was poor, the bedsheet was stained, and the wardrobe was a bit dusty. There was a power cut on the first night. Since the guest house has no generator, we sat in the dark for about 30 minutes. To ask for anything, we had to go to the lobby because there was no telephone and the mobile phone didn’t respond.

The homestay is close to the Pasteur Toll Exit, so it works well for a stopover. There’s a lot of food nearby, and Kimia Farma and a convenience store are across the road. The building facade is lovely, the parking area is very large, and the place feels homey, though its sign is hard to spot from the main road. For the price, the room offers good value, with proper amenities for a short or long stay. It was clean, the AC was cold, and the bathroom was fairly clean. There’s no elevator to the second floor, but the friendly staff helped carry our big luggage upstairs. They also have free tea, coffee, and snacks in the lobby, plus a simple kitchen with utensils, a microwave, and a dining area. Worth a visit.

The Wi-Fi was very bad, so it’s better to have your own data. XL was bad, while Indosat and Smartfren were fast here. The water heater also didn’t work properly. If those two issues were fixed, this would be the best budget hotel in Bandung. I felt at home here. The room was spacious, modern, and very clean, with a comfy bed and a complete set of TV and cold AC. The toilet was super clean, the location was strategic and easy to find, and the service was good. They provided water, tea, and snacks, and there’s a pantry and spacious parking.
