Hotel Utami

The staff were incredibly helpful, and the location is very convenient. The hotel has real potential, though the facilities need work. The lobby is grand but somewhat dated, and the exterior looks much better than the inside. My room had a few issues: the AC wasn't working properly, the TV had no connection or channels, and the bathroom door was basically a plain board, like one in a clothing store fitting room. The bathroom itself was only fairly clean. The Wi-Fi, at least, worked well. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this stay was disappointing, even if it wasn't the worst I've had. I was glad it was only for one day. Given the price, I don't think it would be fair to pile on too much criticism. It's up to you whether to stay. I hope the hotel uses its next renovation to replace the air conditioners and improve the facilities. The outside already looks good, so it's a shame the interior feels like a facade.

The meeting rooms are really nice and huge. Guest rooms are comfortable, though not luxurious. There's halal food, but I can't say whether they have vegetarian options. The rates should suit backpackers, haha. I'd put it around a three-star hotel, though I'm not sure what its official star rating is.

This old palace is in a terrible spot, right by the highway and far from everything. The rooms are in very poor shape, with dim, sparse lighting, broken windows, and bathrooms that smell bad or are decayed. You can face the highway noise or look at the wall of the neighboring building. There isn't any food for breakfast or dinner either. I'm surprised other reviews don't mention this. Avoid this place and let it disappear.

The food and service on the FB side were much better, though the dining tables and chairs weren't standard ergonomic sizes, which made it hard to enjoy the meal. We also didn't receive the discount advertised for paying with a Mandiri card. The shower leaked, so my dad had to wash using the leaking hose. Room service definitely needs major improvement.
