The welcome tea was awesome. It’s a large hotel with convenient rooms, but the mosques are loud here, so be warned if you want to sleep in.

The staff’s service was poor, and communication was difficult since they mainly spoke a local dialect and struggled with both English and Indonesian. When I asked the female receptionist for another key card for my wife, she rudely said they had run out. I won’t be coming back. During my stay a few weeks ago, the room wasn’t clean on arrival, and several plumbing problems I reported weren’t addressed. The refrigerator was broken and didn’t cool properly, and nothing was done after I raised that either. The food was disappointing. There was loud noise throughout my floor from children, construction, and other general activity, and staff told me they couldn’t do anything about it. I was left wondering if a hotel’s main purpose isn’t to offer a restful place to stay. It doesn’t live up to its 4-star rating.

They provided a free baby box for our baby boy when we asked, which was excellent service. Breakfast was magnificent too, with a view of the pool from the restaurant. The hotel is within walking distance of the mall and a perfect place to stay in town. We’ll definitely be back.

They have a coffee machine at breakfast, which is one of a kind in Banjarmasin.

Well maintained, with a strategic location close to the mall, shopping center, city center, and local attractions. Nice hotel. Keep the services and facilities running well. Good job, Fugo Hotel management.
