Rindang Homestay

The decent thing is that there are a few good places to eat right outside, along the river. Otherwise, I'd look somewhere else. The room has no windows or ventilation, and with mothballs everywhere it gives me a headache. I've stayed in some pretty rough, basic places and been fine, but this is the only one I'd rate zero stars if I could. The lobby and room both feel like a minimum security prison, and I'm in Borneo with no windows or airflow. Maybe the mothballs are meant to stop bedbugs, since there seems to be debris in the mattress folds. There's a huge cobweb over the bed, though at least there aren't many insects. It was 150,000 rupiah for one night. Next time they'd have to pay me to stay. There's AC, at least, but that doesn't do much about the cancer concern, especially with the mothballs. Even without them, it would still feel like a security holding cell.
