Aglow Hotel Harbor Bay Batam

The location worked well for my Batam trip, with Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal close by and easy to reach. Aglow Hotel is fairly new, and my room was modern, clean, and comfortable. It was a decent stay.

The auditorium was long and spacious, and the lobby had a tidy, upscale look. I came to Aglow Hotel Batam for an event. At the entrance, security greeted me politely and showed me where to park my motorbike, then the staff welcomed me warmly through the main glass doors. The food area was at the back, and its staff were friendly too. The shared toilets were also at the back by the lift, separated for men and women inside and clean, though I did see some people smoking there. After the event, hotel staff and parking attendants were still helpful, which made the place feel comfortable for events.

We arrived earlier than expected, and they let us check in early and leave late, which we really appreciated. Maybe being there on a quiet weekday helped, but the staff made everything smooth and comfortable. Febri was especially friendly and helpful, and everyone else was nice too. It was a pleasant, fuss-free stay.

I wouldn't recommend this hotel. They charged me a penalty to wash a bedsheet with a little makeup powder on it, which should come out in a regular wash. After the state of the room, it left me wondering whether sheets are washed or changed between guests. The floor was covered in dust, and my feet turned black from walking on it. The toilet and bathtub were dirty too, and at first the tap water ran brown and smelled like a sewer. The air conditioning barely cooled the room, and the window did nothing to block noise. Vehicles and honking kept me awake all night, like sleeping beside a busy highway. For a place calling itself four-star, the cleanliness, upkeep, and management attitude were disgraceful. To me, it doesn't merit even two stars.
