Biz Hotel Batam

It's quiet at night compared with the area around hotspot A2 foodcourt, although Nagoya foodcourt is right across from the hotel. Most places in Nagoya are within reach, with a Grab ride to the mall taking around 5-10 minutes. The room was average and clean, though the door seemed poorly maintained. Wifi was good. At the low price, it was still worth it for a one- or two-night stay.

The breakfast was good for a budget-friendly hotel and met my needs. The room was well maintained, which I appreciated for a budget place. A light, fresh air freshener in the room could improve guests' first impression, and the corridor had a slightly strange smell that could use attention too.

For what I paid, the stay was good, though next time I'll stick to Harpers Aston. I'm fine with paying a bit more. I stayed three nights in the cheapest room, which was adequate for me: tiny, with a large bed, small TV and fridge. I had a window looking out onto the food court. The room was okay, but the lighting wasn't enough and the TV reception wasn't great. The toilet was small and a bit dark, with a tiny sink and minimal toiletries. Breakfast was good quality, the live egg station was nice, and the trays were refilled. Reception and the other staff were polite and helpful. It was a little strange that they took a 100k IDR deposit at check-in.

Nagoya food court is right across the street, which is the best thing about the hotel's location. The rate is very good, though rooms get booked quickly on weekends. The hotel is excellent. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, surprisingly good for a price below many other hotels. The air conditioning worked very well and kept things cool, and the bathroom and shower were excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The hallways on the smoking floor smelled, but the rooms themselves did not.
