Grand Mercure Batam Centre

The view from the 15th floor was great, and I liked the unusual bamboo or wood access card. The coffee maker was probably my favorite part, haha. The room was spacious, very clean, and had plenty of supplies, good lighting, and a 55-inch smart TV. The lobby is roomy, nicely scented, and the staff were humble, helpful, and cool. It’s a good-looking new hotel in the emerging Batam Center area. I’d definitely come back.

It’s handy if you’re arriving through the Batam Centre ferry terminal, and the pool, gym, and kids’ area were well maintained. Breakfast had a nice mix of local and international food. Our room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the hotel has a modern feel. Staff were generally polite and friendly. We did run into minor maintenance problems in the room. Noise from outside and nearby rooms also came through, since the soundproofing isn’t great. Check-in could be slow at busy times, and the service wasn’t always consistent. A few improvements would help it live up to its five-star label, but we had a good stay and it’s a solid choice in Batam Centre.

The morning buffet had lots to choose from, and the rooms were extremely clean. The staff were polite and made us feel welcome, with smiles everywhere. One employee even walked us safely across the street and back, though it wasn’t part of their job. I’d recommend this hotel and stay here again on my next trip.

Breakfast was a real highlight, with fresh, tasty local, Asian, and Western choices. The hotel also managed to feel luxurious while still being comfortable and relaxed. The design is modern and elegant, and everything looked beautifully kept, from the spacious lobby to the well-appointed rooms. It felt fresh and impeccably clean throughout. Check-in through check-out was flawless for me. One of the best hotels I’ve stayed at, and I’ll absolutely choose it again when I’m in Batam.
