Harmoni One Convention Hotel & Service Apartments

I picked this hotel mainly because of the buffet, so that was the biggest letdown. The hot dishes were fried rice that was far too salty, bone-in chicken, and noodles that weren’t fully cooked. There were only three fruit choices and not much salad. Drinks were basic, with cheap orange juice and coffee, bread options were limited with no whole-grain choice, and there wasn’t any cheese. For the price, I expected a much better breakfast, so I’d give it 2/5. The dining area also got very crowded and sometimes dirty. With so little room to walk, I saw guests carrying plates bump into one another. Anyone who likes or expects South American flavors may not enjoy this breakfast. The staff were great, made us feel welcome, and helped with our bags, which I appreciated. The rooms were clean, though the toilet chain didn’t work as it should, and they weren’t soundproof at all. Corridor noise carried in throughout the day. The location is fine if you want to be near a large mall; if malls aren’t your thing, it may not suit you.

Breakfast runs from 6 to 10am and has a fairly wide choice of dishes. The hotel itself is huge, with 600 rooms, though during my weekend stay I’d guess around 100 to 150 guests came down for breakfast. Location and service were pretty good, and all the facilities worked. The building’s age shows in the dated rooms, especially the bathroom fittings and mattress. For about 60-70 SGD a night for a deluxe king, it was okay for the price, but expect something closer to a 3-star room than a typical 4-star one.

I stayed at Harmoni One with friends a couple of weeks ago. The rooms were huge and luxurious, with an amazing view, and the service was really nice. The hotel also has a big auditorium and a large waiting area by reception, plus multiple floors. There’s a very big pool too, but sadly it was really dirty. I could hear noise from nearby rooms and the corridor all night, since the sound insulation was so weak. It made it difficult to rest during my two-night stay. The hot shower wasn’t working either, and the bathroom ventilation was poor. The hotel feels quite dated and clearly needs a refresh. It has good potential, especially with its strategic location and friendly, polite staff, which I appreciated. I hope management takes these problems seriously and improves the facilities to save and elevate the hotel.
