Southlinks Country Club Hotel

I think this is one of Batam’s best golf courses. I last played on 23/13/25 and was impressed that the staff even took the effort to put name tags on the lockers. Good job.

The clubhouse and changing facilities are spacious, well equipped, and very good. I especially liked the cold plunge, cold sauna, and pool. The course is a fun challenge, with some great signature holes and lots of memorable Par 3s. Caddies seemed more professional and knowledgeable than at many other Batam courses. Two things bothered me. We had to pay IDR 120k to hit a few balls at the driving range before the round. That felt annoying given what we paid for the round and weekend package. Even 25-30 balls included would have been plenty. And people were allowed to smoke in the dining area right beside others who were eating, which I hated. Aside from those small issues, all good. I’m looking forward to playing again.

The greens are tricky and there are lots of water hazards, but it was still enjoyable. I forgot to leave a separate caddie review, so I’m mentioning her here. My caddie, no.120, was excellent in every way and gave such good service that I’ll definitely come back to play. A lovely experience!

I booked directly through Southlinks Admin, Ms Nolly, who was extremely friendly and ready to help with what we needed. She arranged the ferry, pick-up, and transport perfectly. The clubhouse facilities are fantastic and pristine. After 18 holes, the shower room has both a heated pool and an ice-cold one for relaxing. The food was acceptable, though it could be improved. The fairways and greens were generally good, and there’s an Instagram-style Par 3 where you need to reach the green or face a three-step wall up to it.
