There are plenty of street food stalls on Sultan Agung street if you need meals, since breakfast isn't included and the restaurant wasn't open during my stay. Maybe it was closed for the Eid holiday while staff were off. The location is handy for Jatim Park and other attractions, close enough to walk, and also fairly near city hall. The room is good for the price, with just twin or double beds, a desk with mirror, and a TV showing local channels. There's no air conditioning, but Batu stays cool enough even in the dry season. The shared bathroom is outside the rooms.

It wasn't very pricey, but cleanliness could've been better. The pillows had lots of stains, and the second-floor bathroom in the private room smelled so bad that we bought air freshener for it.

You can look out over Batu from the terrace, since most rooms are upstairs on the second floor, and the view is amazing. The hot shower is handy when the water feels too cold in Batu's cool weather. The place is also close to spots like Museum Angkut and Jatim Park 1 and 2. At around Rp 100.000 ++, it's an economical choice for backpackers, especially if you split a room with friends.

The building seems fairly new and the surroundings feel comfortable. Our room was a little cramped, and we weren't given towels, though there was soap in the shared bathroom.

It's comfortable and close to everything, with good water, rooms, and views. But there are a lot of people around, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want somewhere really quiet or don't like crowds.
