Senyum World Hotel

The friendly staff made the stay even more fun. Senyum Hotel Malang is great for a relaxed holiday with kids, and being right next to Jatim Park 3 is really handy. The hotel has different country and animal themes, which the kids can enjoy. Some of the animal statues looked strange to me, though, and felt a little creepy hahaha.

Every floor has its own room theme, which is great. Thanks to Mbak Meli for helping us organize our annual corporate meeting. It was really good!

We had a great room, but my family and I were unhappy with the stay. We paid for an executive suite, yet the recreational spaces, including the pool, mini golf, playground, and other kids’ activities, weren’t limited to hotel guests. People could use the lifts and recreation areas without a room key or any security check. They were very crowded in the mornings and evenings, and it was obvious to us that many visitors weren’t staying at the hotel. If I’d known this was allowed, I wouldn’t have booked. We’ve stayed before, but this will be our last time because the hotel doesn’t seem to value its paying guests. After the hotel replied: How can you be sure everyone in those areas was a registered guest? Nobody checked or asked questions, and no key was needed. I came from the mall and walked into the recreation area like a stranger, with no key or questions. Many people at the pool had their own towels instead of hotel towels, which were for guests only. The hotel connects to a public area, but there’s no security in place for guests’ comfort and safety. If you claim to be the biggest, you should be meeting a higher standard and providing better security.

The family room in the green apartment had an amazing view of the city and Jatim Park 3. With the apartment connected to Dino Mall and the hotel, there were plenty of attractions and activities to keep us entertained. Breakfast was good too. The problem was the two small lifts. During busy hours we couldn’t get in, and with two toddlers we ended up carrying them up the stairs to level 9.
