The village is lovely, and the people are friendly and happy to connect. At the resort, the rooms are very nice and had everything we needed, and there are several delicious breakfast options. I also liked the thoughtful architecture, all the lush plants, the tasteful local and antique decor, and the ponds. A great base to relax, visit the beach, and experience suburban Jogja's culture. I'd definitely recommend it.

A major privacy problem is the whiteboard in the entrance, where staff list every guest's name, length of stay, and room for anyone to see. That's a huge violation of privacy and, as I understand it, against the law, since I'm German and GDPR applies worldwide. If the owner sees this, please change it. International guests would appreciate it. Aside from that, Puri Brata in Bantul is a good place to stay. It's quiet apart from the farm animals, the architecture is interesting, the staff are helpful, and the rooms are decent. The local food is generally pleasing. Some areas could be improved, but it's worth considering if you're nearby.

The owner Mr. Cahyo and Mrs. Dwi were wonderful hosts. They welcomed us and shared lots of history about Jogjakarta and Java. We could borrow bicycles to visit Pandansari Beach and its lighthouse, riding through the paddy fields along the way. The food and drinks are natural and organic, grown in their own garden. The stay was comfortable, the service was good, and it's especially suited to people who love nature. You won't regret going.
