Village Above The Clouds

It’s a spacious, quiet place that works well for a retreat, and it’s family friendly too. There’s a yoga shala, and you can walk in the river. It’s about knee deep for an adult, so it should be fun for family time.

We came to ask about the place and take a look, but a large group of street dogs blocked the way and one bit me. We ended up running away from the steep entrance at the start of the street. The photo was taken before the incident.

The staff were friendly, though communication was difficult. I couldn't get in touch with them about the order or any requests before arriving. The room above the restaurant was stuffy and only relatively clean, and the walls were paper thin, so it was noisy.

The gardens are beautiful, and the view from both the rooms and restaurant is spectacular. Our family with small children had a really enjoyable stay at Village Above the Clouds. The room was spacious and comfortable, with its own balcony. Breakfast was very good, especially the bread, pineapple jam, yogurt, and granola. The kids loved exploring the grounds and playing by the stream that feeds the rice paddies below. We had limited hot water in the shower on the first day, but the staff fixed it after we asked for help. They were friendly and helpful.
