After I posted this, the Front Desk Manager and their superior came to hear my feedback in person. They explained what had happened and offered a room upgrade as a goodwill gesture. I appreciate them speaking with me directly and their commitment to improve. My original experience hasn't changed, but I respect how they handled the feedback and hope the promised improvements help future guests. I've been in Bekasi for three weeks, and we're currently staying at Horison Hotel Bekasi for 7 nights. We're Malaysians. I'd rate the service 2 out of 5. Most of the front desk team were unfriendly, though a few staff members were exceptions. Pak Heri was kind and helpful, and was the highlight of our stay. The housekeeping staff were polite and friendly, which we appreciated.

It's so convenient that the hotel shares a building with a shopping mall. There's a rooftop restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating, plus what seems like lots of function rooms around the property. You can relax outdoors, grab coffee at the cozy lobby shop, or get gelato on the upper deck, which overlooks the pool. The pool level also has a pool deck and a kids playground. There are plenty of places to sit and lounge around.

For family gatherings, I'd recommend Horison Bekasi. The facilities have improved enough, and getting to the mall is easy, though parking is complicated. The place and food are okay, but the hotel is old and some things could be better. I was very happy with the service from Reception and Security. Mr. Asep and Ms. Adisty helped me and my family a lot. Some Kitchen and Pastry staff could improve their grooming and their SOP for serving guests or meeting them. The rest seems okay. We held a conference on the second floor and the service for business was great. The people were professional, and the reception and restaurant staff were especially polite and always ready to help. The rooms were clean and decent. I'd suggest this place for a business meeting.

It's a good place to stay in Bekasi City and get a feel for the area. There's a pretty river view in front of the property, which is a nice feature. The hotel is in the middle of one of the oldest malls in Bekasi City, West Java, but it's still a good one. It's also a solid spot for a meeting in the city centre, and being connected to the mall means you can find almost anything you need afterward. Worth a try.
