Green Tropical Village and Resort

The garden was the highlight for me. It’s lush, nicely kept, and feels cool against the hot, dry weather outside. There are lots of saung around where you can sit, chat, or eat. The room I stayed in was the “village” type, clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean too. The grounds are spacious, with three pools: a regular rectangular one around 2 m, an artistic-shaped pool at 1.3-1.8 m, and a roughly 1 m pool right outside the business room. The water looked clear, though a few spots had moss and could use more upkeep. Breakfast was an okay buffet with toast, an egg station, chicken, fish, porridge, cereal, desserts, coffee, tea, and juice. A good place to rest at a fair price.

The food at the hotel was good, though breakfast was just so-so. My husband and I stayed four days in the royal suite and really liked how private it felt. We could use the pool right outside our door, and almost nobody else seemed to use it. There are two other pools as well.

The garden and landscaping are lovely for a hotel in the city, and trees shade much of the grounds. There are three pools and plenty of gazebos. The rooms are in an ethnic wooden bungalow style: the basic option has five rooms in a row, each with a patio, while separate small bungalows have one bedroom with a double bed and the larger ones have two bedrooms with double beds. It was clean, the price was reasonable, and the service was pretty good. The restaurant was the weak spot, with poor service, food that tasted rather funny, and small portions.

It’s set well back from the main road, so the surroundings are quiet. We got there before 2 P.M. and were offered welcome drinks while we waited for check-in, then allowed to wait in another room. Service was good, and the food and facilities were great too.
