I really enjoyed the local feel at Purnama Hotel. The place had a lush, natural atmosphere, and the staff were exceptionally friendly. It felt like staying in a home away from home, and left a lasting impression on me. A stroll took me to a nearby traditional market, where I found fresh catches of the day. There’s also a delicious seafood restaurant just a short distance away, and the food was amazing. For getting around Belitung city, you can arrange a car with a driver through the hotel. It made a great base for exploring, and I’d recommend it if you want an authentic local experience.

The price was only 9 Euro a night, and I’d come back. It’s a homey place in the middle of Lenggang village, within walking distance of the Chinese temple, Museum Laskar Pelangi, and the Market. Breakfast isn’t served, but you can ask the staff to buy food for you or find local dishes on the corner. The bed was comfortable, and even the towels were big and thick, like in a 5 star hotel. The service felt just as nice as a 5 star hotel.

I can’t say much about the place. I showed up on Monday, but it only opens on Wednesday, so my timing was unlucky.

The room itself is nice, but it needs better upkeep. The mattress was dirty, there’s no TV, and getting water for a shower was difficult.
