We took photos of the problems and told the host, and someone came to inspect that evening. The owner was rude and dismissive. He showed us the other villa, which sits back-to-back with this one, but when we explained that moving wouldn’t fix our concerns and that we’d paid good money, he laughed and drove off. Thankfully, Airbnb helped us get our money back and find somewhere else, but the behavior was shameful. The villa looks beautiful in photos, but it was disgusting. Two of the three showers didn’t work, one toilet only flushed about half the time, and there was dirt and bugs everywhere. An exposed electric cable was floating in the pool. They also charge a lot for cleaning or even fresh towels. Don’t waste your money or time here. There are hundreds of better places to stay in Bali.

We’d booked the villa for a week, but changed our minds quickly after arriving. It didn’t look like the photos: the rooms, taps, and towels were dirty, water pressure was low, and there were exposed electric cables in the pool. Cleaning the house and getting fresh towels cost extra. Some of these problems had already been mentioned in reviews from a year earlier, but nothing had changed. When we complained, the host came by and got aggressive almost immediately. He wouldn’t listen, made fun of us, treated us like children, and left after two minutes. After saving for two years for our dream trip, we were laughed at and told we weren’t paying much, so this was what we got. It felt like these people cared only about money and were ruining Bali’s good name. I’d give it zero stars if I could.

We were still happy with the villa and our stay. The neighborhood was really nice, the pool was good, and there was plenty of space, with decent AC. The service was good too. There were some problems, though: the water pressure in the shower was very poor, and although Wi-Fi worked well most of the time, the internet cut out completely twice. When it was working, the best connection was downstairs, which was a shame for those staying upstairs. We also found beetles in a kitchen cupboard. At night it was loud, with dogs and crowing chickens, as well as scooters going past.

The owner was rude and unwilling to help, so it was a horrible stay. This could suit people who want to party and don’t care about hygiene, safety, or basic things like clean towels, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone coming to Bali to relax. In response to your comment, saying we were drunk is nonsense, though we expected as much. Maybe take some responsibility? Other comments show these problems are common, so act on the feedback instead of blaming someone else. An anger management course for the owner or manager might help, whatever lets you sleep at night.
