Villa Puspa

We arrived late at night and felt stuck, so we stayed until nearby cafes opened at 6 AM, then left right away. We didn't use the bathroom. The whole villa seemed neglected, with a stained toilet and dirty floor, shower door, sink, and curtains. It smelled strongly of the bathroom as soon as we walked in, and the pool water looked like it had been sitting there for ages. The place felt like it was falling apart and wasn't being maintained. What a nightmare. This place should be shut down.

Breakfast was good, the beach was very close, and the staff were friendly and did their best to speak English with us. But I wouldn't recommend Villa Puspa. The online photos didn't match, the pool was black and dirty, the rooms and kitchen weren't cleaned well, and there were wasp nests around the shower. The kitchen had no dishes, kettle, or pans. We booked two rooms for four people, but one room's AC didn't work and it was too hot to sleep, so we ended up on the floor in my parents' air conditioned room. The “boss” was never around to discuss the problems or help us out.

Think twice before staying here. While I was at Villa Puspa, my AirPods disappeared from a zipped pouch in my bag after I briefly left it in the room. A member of the cleaning staff came in while I was out. I tracked the AirPods with the Find My app, and their location moved around before eventually returning to Villa Puspa. I believe someone on staff must have gone through my bag. The owner won't take responsibility.

We stayed for a week and had a really good time, without being disappointed. The villa we got, MITIK, was superb, and the staff were cooperative and helpful. The bathroom had a bit of a smell, though at this price I guess you don't spend much time in it. Insects made the pool dirty every day, but whenever staff were around, they cleaned it when asked. I’d highly recommend the property for a great villa stay.
