We rented the bike here for 200k a day and were given a nice PCX. The guy said it could handle the hills, and it was fine at first, but then it broke down from a mechanical problem that wasn't our fault. They gave us a replacement, then later charged us 300k to fix the broken one. I thought that was unfair since I hadn't caused the problem, but I paid so I could move on. I wouldn't recommend renting a bike here, especially at that daily price. The whole thing was a nightmare and ruined my day. I was stressed that the bike might explode and kept worrying about how we'd get to our hotel, when I just wanted a nice day with my boyfriend. We definitely got the bike here. The staff contacted someone who owned it for us, and this is the right location.

The hosts were attentive and really nice. The rooms were comfortable, and the area was quiet, maybe too quiet for some. It's about a 15-minute walk to the town center.

The host was helpful, and the rooms were quiet, a good standard, with nice views. They suggested Ketambe over Bukit Lawang, which turned out to be a great call and made our Sumatra trip. The road to the homestay was the main drawback, and the food they serve was okay but nothing special.

Our host made the stay stand out. He was friendly, always smiling, and helped arrange everything from our arrival to tours and getting to the accommodation, including our departure. The rooms were clean and adequate. There's no air conditioning, but we didn't need it in Berastagi's highlands. The price was very good for what we got, and the pizza they made was good too. Highly recommend if you're coming to Berastagi.
