The room was tiny, even though I’d been told the hotel was compact. I was there because the management team arranged it for a business trip, and with a very late arrival and an early airport run, it was just somewhere to sleep. I don’t recall getting any service beyond that. There was nowhere to set up and work, no toiletries apart from towels, no toilet paper, and nothing to use with the hot water. The shower also turned cold quickly.

Rooms were clean and pretty comfortable, and breakfast was available, though it was basic. The hotel is tucked away, which makes it quiet, but finding food nearby isn’t easy. Wi-Fi only reached around the reception.

The breakfast was a small nasi kuning with tea, and they even had a nice snack too. For the price, this simple boutique hotel does the job, with a comfortable bed, decent facilities, and clean rooms. The staff were friendly. Hot water took a while to arrive, but once it did, the temperature and pressure were good. I’d recommend it.

Mas Aris made a real difference during our stay. He was friendly, helpful, respected what guests wanted, helped with our laundry, and even tried to find us a bus ticket. Since I’m a bule and struggle with the Indonesian idea of breakfast, he arranged milk and bananas on the first day, then toasted bread and egg on the other days. The bread could have been toasted a little more, but it was fine, and the coffee and tea were good. He also consistently wore his mask. Mas Filo, if I’ve got his name right, was helpful too and got us Sate the day before we left. GrabFood has very limited choices in Bima, and the ones available were mediocre at best. He was respectful and capable, though he could wear a mask sometimes too. The room and bed were clean and comfortable, and the bathroom was in good shape with hot water. The room itself was on the small side, but the bed was spacious. Each room has a little balcony where breakfast can be eaten, and there’s a wardrobe beside the door. The first towels were clean and nice; the next set was older and rougher. The bedside lamps wouldn’t turn on.

The highest room we booked was spacious, though its design was odd. The bathroom was especially narrow, with no divider between shower and toilet, so showering left the whole floor wet. They didn’t provide a toothbrush or toothpaste, or slippers. There’s no restaurant, so they buy breakfast, and you can ask staff to pick up lunch or dinner. The reception is outside, just a table and chair, and there aren’t many staff, but they were warm and polite. The hotel is down a narrow lane, or “di dalam gang.” He he.
