Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach by IHG

The staff made the stay feel special. Everyone was warm, attentive, and ready to help. Pak Yudi was especially welcoming and provided excellent hospitality, and Pak Herman made every ride comfortable and pleasant. I also loved the complimentary kayaking, one of many resort activities. My room at Hotel Indigo Bintan was spacious, clean, comfortable, and had complete amenities. The food was excellent, with good variety and quality throughout my stay.

The service was top notch, and there was plenty to do, from complimentary SUP and kayaking to other water sports, free bikes, and a kids club. My spacious room had an outdoor bath tub. Bintang, Algitri, and Ardi at the pool bar were great, especially Bintang, who offered to take my young son to the hotel clinic after he got a minor foot injury from stepping on something at the beach. WhatsApp updates about activities were helpful, and the hotel printed our ferry boarding passes and sent us by buggy to the kids club. Very pleased with the service.

The team was warm and attentive, and Ilham stood out for his excellent service. We appreciated how promptly staff fixed the pump issue after showers that flooded our balcony. The rooms are beautiful and thoughtfully designed. In-room dining and meals were good, and breakfast had a decent variety. A small suggestion: add the available drinks to the laminated menu. With the weather changing so much, more indoor activities or backup options like card games would help. Workshops sounded like a great idea too, especially batik or other Indonesian cultural activities to help guests learn about Bintan and Indonesia. As the hotel continues to fine-tune its operations and staff knowledge, we noticed a few communication and capacity snags. We weren’t told about the hotel activities on day one, and couldn’t find details online or in the room booklet. The spa was full for one or two days. The ocean restaurant needed weekend reservations, and even at 5:30 p.m. there was no space, so we chose in-room dining. These seem tied to space, capacity, and how activities and facilities are communicated, and I expect they’ll smooth out over time. Thanks for the hard work. We look forward to seeing how the hotel develops.

The buffet breakfast was just okay, with limited choice and so-so food. At the neighboring Holiday Inn, where Hotel Indigo guests can use the facilities, the pools had run out of towels on our second day. We were told fresh ones would arrive in 20 minutes, but after half an hour there were still none. Staff then said the laundry vendor hadn’t delivered enough and they didn’t know when more would come. I’d never seen a hotel pool run out of towels before, though it happened at the Holiday Inn, not where we stayed. The Hotel Indigo itself gave us really good service, with polite, accommodating staff. We spent the long weekend here with family. At the ferry terminal, welcome staff met us after immigration and customs, then the free shuttle took us straight to the hotel, about a 10-minute drive away. Check-in was smooth and our room was ready. While I was at the counter, my daughter was already in the air-conditioned area making a kite with other kids, with staff helping them. Our room was modern, clean, spacious, and had a nice sea-view balcony. My daughter loved the two pools, each with a bar and its own happy hour: Voyage Bar from 2 to 4 p.m. and Tiki Bar from 4 to 6 p.m., with a 3-for-2 deal on selected cocktails. With the convenient ferry access, good service, well-appointed rooms, and beachfront views, I’d stay here again.
