Nusa Nalan Beach Resort

The owner was helpful and conscientious, and both the rooms and sheets were clean. The staff keep the decent little beach clean too. Food is what you’d expect at a homestay, with one fixed menu for all guests. It’s on land near Saleman Village and was one of the easiest places to reach. There are other good options in the area for almost the same price. Calling it a “Beach Resort” feels like a stretch for what’s really more of a homestay. The wooden floors have gaps where you can see the ground below, there’s no hot water in the ensuite bathroom, and the toilet uses the usual Indonesian bucket flush. The room has only a fan, though December evenings were cool enough. There are just 4 rooms, and locals occupied most of them during my short stay. The “Ocean view” is questionable too, since anyone on the shared terrace can look straight into the room. The marketing photos don’t really match the property, apart from the clean beach. I’ve attached up-to-date photos.

I’m from Taiwan, and my name is Ava Chen. The beaches here are beautiful and clean, and the sea view feels so romantic. The hosts are genuinely friendly, and I recommend taking part in their activities. I especially like the hostess, who’s a wonderful cook. We’ve become like sisters, and I’m so happy I got to visit. Thank you for giving me such a lovely memory.

The location is lovely, right across from the small island of Nusa Nalan, and the food is very good. You can get to the resort on foot or by scooter.

The beach and the view are great, and Al, the caretaker, is awesome. This is one of the newer guesthouses, opened 2018 May. Be careful of the boat mafia, who charge too much to get around Ora. You can walk here from town, though it’s a bit far, and Air Belanda is also within walking distance. Check the season before making the trip. Ora isn’t pretty when you can’t see the corals, and then it’s certainly not worth the trouble of getting there.
